What rooms do you design?
We focus on designing children’s spaces. Those spaces include bedrooms, bathrooms, playrooms, craft areas, teen spaces, and nurseries. If you love our style and want another type of room designed in your home (not for kids) kindly reach out and we can discuss your project.
What is Brandi Lyn Interiors style?
Our style is a fresh twist on classic design, embracing a combination of modern and vintage pieces. Our style is colorful, yet calming and includes pops of pattern throughout. We do tailor each design to our clients’ specific styles, which we learn about through our questionnaire and Zoom meetings.
How do we communicate throughout the design process?
We use a combination of different methods throughout the process. Most of our communication is through our design portal, which is very user friendly. We also chat via Zoom meetings. You have direct communication with me through the entire process. I can be messaged via e-mail or the design portal. I strive to answer messages within 24 hours.
How is my child involved in the process?
We love involving your kiddos in the process! We give your child a design questionnaire to complete at the beginning. We tailor the questionnaires based on their age and ability. We also invite your children to be present during any Zoom meetings (if possible) so that they can share their feedback. We do understand that there may be circumstances that your child may not be able to participate. If this is the case, please let us know. We can still complete a beautiful room design whether they are part of the process or not. A la Carte services and Nursery design services do not include the children in the process.
Can I use existing items I already own in the design?
Of course! If you are planning on using pieces you already own, we ask that you share that on the design questionnaire. You will be asked to share pictures and measurements of those pieces, so that we can incorporate them correctly into the space.
Can you work within any budget?
We work with varying budget ranges and will always keep your budget in mind when choosing pieces for the design. You will be able to communicate your budget in the design questionnaire at the beginning of the project. The budget is a range, and we aim to stay within that range. We do recommend a budget of at least $5,000 for a full room design. If you already own some items that you are incorporating into the space, that number could be less. If you have questions about budget, please feel free to reach out via e-mail.
What stores do you source from?
We use a wide variety of trusted retailers that we use in our designs. What we choose for you depends on your budget and style preferences. If you have a favorite retailer, please let us know in the design questionnaire. We aim to choose retailers that have a good reputation for quality to ensure that you are receiving the best product that your budget allows.
What if an item is out of stock when I go to order?
We encourage our clients to purchase the items as soon as possible once receiving their design to prevent this from happening. However, in some cases items do go out of stock unexpectedly. At the time of submitting your design, we ensure it is in stock, and we try to avoid items that are low in stock. If an item on your shopping list goes out of stock within 10 days after receiving your design, we will gladly replace it with another suitable piece.
How long does the process take?
The process time can vary depending on which package you have chosen and the responsiveness of the client. Typically, the process for the 2D package takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks. The 3D packages can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. We encourage our clients to respond to communications in a timely manner to keep the process moving forward.
How do I know I will love my design?
We pride ourselves in making sure the client is 100 percent satisfied with the design. We encourage client feedback throughout the process and offer 2 rounds of revisions to ensure that you are happy with the final design. Through our detailed client questionnaire, 2 virtual Zoom meetings, and communication through our design portal, we make it easy to openly communicate your thoughts throughout the process.
Who purchases the items listed on the shopping list?
We do not do any purchasing of items. You are responsible for purchasing all of the items on your shopping list. We make it convenient via the “Shop It’ buttons, which take you directly to the retailer’s website to make a purchase.
How is Brandi Lyn Interiors different than other virtual design companies?
We pride ourselves in creating a unique experience for you and your child. From start to finish, your kiddo is involved in the process. Our unique virtual experience has been tailored to cater to busy families with children. We have access to and are familiar with a wide variety of retailers that offer furniture and accessories specifically for children’s spaces. At the end of every full room design, we send out our Signature Design Box, which includes all of the printed designs, as well as any samples of fabrics, paint, and finishes used.
What if I am unhappy with an item once it is delivered?
We understand that sometimes an item may look different in person than the pictures online, or you may feel it is just not the right fit once seeing it in person. If that happens, you are welcome to return the item according to the retailer’s return policy. We do try to source from retailer’s that have a convenient return policy, so the process is easy for you in case of returns. If you have purchased the item within 10 days of the design submission and are not happy with it once it arrives, we will gladly choose a replacement item for you. We extend this service to one item per design.
What if my child and I disagree on the style of the room?
We know that sometimes kids can have a vastly different image of what they want their room to be like compared to mom or dad’s vision. This is where we work our magic to sort through everyone’s wishes for the space and come up with a design that both parents and kiddos love. Sometimes it is a bit of a compromise, but ultimately, the parent is in charge of and responsible for making final design decisions. By allowing your child to be involved in just the right way, we are able to make them feel part of the process and able to love their room that much more.
